My journey with Flex Fitness began back in 2013, when we opened our first club in Morrinsville. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of helping grow the brand creating Flex Fitness Hamilton CBD in 2017, and more recently moving into joint ownership with Hannah and Elliot in Cambridge and now Taupō. I’m proud to be part of a 100% New Zealand owned and operated business.
What drives me most is the build. I love taking a blank canvas just a shell of a building and turning it into a thriving, energetic club. That process of creation and growth is what fuels me. For me, it’s never just about memberships or numbers. Our clubs are built on community, culture, and connection. I believe in creating spaces where people feel safe, supported, and inspired to chase their goals.
One of my proudest achievements was taking the leap from the security of paid employment to pursue entrepreneurship. At the time, Flex Fitness was a fresh and emerging name in the industry. There were no guarantees, but I believed in the vision, backed myself, and went all in. I’m incredibly grateful for the loyalty and support we’ve received from our members over the years it means everything.
At the core of everything I do is a strong belief in equality. Everyone deserves the same level of respect and time, no matter who they are. As my late father always said: “Treat the janitor with the same respect as the CEO.” That mindset continues to guide me, both in business and in life.
Outside the gym, my biggest achievement is my family. They’re my motivation and biggest supporters. And when it’s time to unwind, you’ll usually find me on the golf course, browsing cars, boats, or motorbikes on Trade Me, or relaxing at the beach.
